About OSL
Welcome to the Office of Student Life at UC Merced!
The Office of Student Life (OSL) is here to encourage involvement in campus life, support student initiatives, and serve as a primary liaison to students. Through the coordination of activities, events, workshops, lectures, and trips, the Office of Student Life works to create an out of the classroom experience that develops the whole student. Education happens both inside and outside the classroom and a successful college career includes social as well as intellectual development.
The Office of Student Life has nine programmatic areas of focus to provide education and support for the student co-curricular experience. Those focus areas are Leadership Programs, Social Justice Initiatives, Civic Leadership, Clubs and Organizations, Student Government, Activities and Events, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Women's Programs, and Judicial Affairs. Annually, the Office of Student Life coordinates and co-sponsors over 500 programs and events to engage, excite, and educate UC Merced students, staff, faculty, and Merced community members.
Just to name a few of the hundreds of OSL events are the All University Leadership Conference, Race for the Cure, Pride Week, Poetry Jam, Family Weekend, Welcome Week, Be a Better Greek Week, 3 Fairs in 3 Days, Women's History Month, Black History Month Oratorical Contest, the Yosemite Leadership Program, Cinco de Mayo Celebration, Associated Students Elections, and the Moneywise Bobcat Institute.
With over 160 registered student clubs and organizations active at UC Merced (and new clubs forming all the time), students have an endless array of opportunities for involvement. Currently, registered clubs and organizations plan over 300 events a year both on and off campus, so if student involvement is what you're looking for, you have come to the right place!
I encourage you to browse the OSL web site and get familiar with the many resources available for students. We are always interested in providing new and exciting educational, cultural, and social events for students, so we welcome your thoughts, feedback, and ideas. We would also love to see you at an upcoming Office of Student Life event, so please come out and get involved in student life at UC Merced!
If you have questions or feedback, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to contact us at (209) CAT-LIFE (228-5433) or e-mail us at studentlife@ucmerced.edu.
Again, the Office of Student Life welcomes you to UC Merced!
Sincerely,
Le'Trice Curl
Director, Student Life and Judicial Affairs
